Killings, Injustice, and God's Whereabouts
What is happening in the Philippines especially in the eyes of international media is destructive to the Filipinos as a nation. Again, before I lay my cards of reasoning, I reiterate to the stupid critics of my blog, to read very carefully.
I am not out to defend President Rody Duterte or to condemn him or his critics. I am taking the side of justice that is the side where the word of God in the Bible leans.
I should say that at the initiative of the President, to fight criminality, drugs, and corruption, (that I believe is long overdue) we have realized how the tentacles of corruption have gripped almost all sectors of Philippine society! It is unimaginable, for example, that at the maximum level of the correctional institution of the Philippines or the National Bilibid Prison, corruption and all forms of evil have established its "nests" where eggs of every form of shamelessness are being hatched everyday!
EPHESIANS 4:19
Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
What is supposed to be an institution of correction turned out to be an institution of the fabrication of "errors!" One can just heave a very deep sigh and ask, “So, have we now come to this?" The answer is, "It’s the reality!"
Recent events bared that the NBP is "home" to the manufacture and distribution of illegal drugs, the very cause of the conviction of the very people who are residents of this "supposed" arm of justice! It has even turned out to be a coliseum for very much attended but unpublicized concerts and shows, and a haven for highly paid prostitutes!
Then suddenly things came to a turn to expose all these. The President's initiative revealed many unexpected forms of evil in government and society! The number of drug pushers, dealers, and users is unprecedented! Fortunately, this paved the way for some addicts and pushers to fear the arm of justice. I know this to be true because I am privy to some of them!
It is my conviction that this is unprecedented – this nest of criminal activities and tangle of prison liberties - because these activities and subjects either wittingly or unwittingly were not allowed, permitted, pampered or protected by those in authority! Who knows but the Almighty.
PROVERBS 15:3
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
I believe the President is doing justice to the Filipino people in his initiative to fight criminality, drugs, and corruption. But it is possible that in the fight for justice, injustice may be working also. In seeking for the truth, God ordains before judgment is handed down, the testimony of two or three credible witnesses.
HEBREWS 10:28
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
But where can injustice interfere in the work and fight for justice? First, there are "false" witnesses!
PROVERBS 14:25
A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.
Not all witnesses are credible. Some, especially the corrupted, are incredible!
That explains why we can never be sure of the one hundred (100%) percent truth. For this, the last judgment belongs to God! The Bible tells about the basis of these judgments as according to the fruit of one’s doings, as He alone can search the heart.
REVELATION 20:11-12
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
JEREMIAH 17:9-10
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Who knew if the alleged "extrajudicial killings" are true? Who knew if they are "extra-criminal killings," meaning that the criminals themselves are killing one another to cover up their crimes?!
It would be of utmost injustice to blame everything on the government before a thorough investigation is done! On the other hand, it would also be apparent injustice on the part of the government to deny the right of those who are investigating alleged extrajudicial killings!
The President in national television uttered some pronouncements that for me are unfortunate -
“When a one-year-old, an 18-month-old baby is taken from the mother’s arms, brought under a Jeep and raped, and killed, where is God? And in Syria women and children, who don’t want to have sex with ISIS, they are burned. So where’s God? My God, where are you?”
On a recent speech to police officers about illegal drugs and a set of rules to deal with drug criminals, the President said –
“Maybe God doesn’t want all these killings. But never mind; God is not my enemy. I’ll talk to him when I get there…I'll ask him, 'If you are really God, you didn't do anything, and the Filipinos are going crazy.’”
Duterte declared he believes in God but His existence has been a never-ending question for him because of the endless agony observed all around. When people lack fear and disrespect the law, death penalty is it, he said. “I have always been a hardliner when it comes to the penal laws,” he added.
I was consoled some when he said, "I believe in God, but..." I can imagine the feeling and the thinking of the President embattled left and right with criticisms and international misconceptions of biased media. The "but" in the President's statement, I believe needs enlightenment from the word of God that I will discuss in the next issue of this blog.
I am also saddened on what had happened and perhaps, until now is still happening in our NBP Compound. I also surmise that the Bureau of Correction has transformed itself into the Bureau of Corruption due to the evil that illegal drugs and greed for money bring inside the NBP premises. May God bless our country, the Phillipines!
Napakagandang talakayin. Ingatan po nawa kayong lahat mga kapatid. Will get back to this blog again later. Samahan po nawa tayong lahat at Salamat po uli sa DIOS sa Kapatid na ELI sana maraming kapupulutang aral at paliwanag.
ReplyDeleteMaid Meriam who said God is an underachiever is far worst than the current President.
ReplyDeleteAt least Bro Eli is correct in the light of the fact that the President could be "questioning" the presence of God, say how can this happen, why the innocent? etc. if there is God, why He let it happen? Truly this will be answered, God willing in Bro Eli's next blog.
For the meantime, let's console ourselves, at least our president is not calling God underachiever and despite his pronouncement he stood by it and never said, "I lied". Now how can you rest in peace inday meriam? for sure you will now know if the God, creator of heaven is underachiever or not!
You are always there to show what the bible says about the seemingly confusing things in our dispensation. Thank God for Brother Eli. God's justice is the perfect justice. God's justice IS JUSTICE. Only He knows everything. Even the hearts of false and true witnesses. One should not be quick to judge. After all, God has the final verdict.

Witnesses only reveals Half Truth, only God can see truth in every man's heart and will judge accordingly. God are allowing all these events to happen for a reason not for our itellectual consumption.

#WhereIsGod
The main reason why people question God whenever there are wickedness happening is the innocence of the Bible.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we can not blame anyone for this innocence. Because for centuries, we were blinded by false religion.
Give Bro.Eli a chance to be heard by the world and people will see how compassionate at just the God of the heaven is.
I totally agree.
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God,
ReplyDeleteI thank God always for the enlightenment He brings through you Bro. Eli. May He continuously strengthen you and keep you safe. Looking forward to the next blog which will emphasize more on the Presidents statements and questions towards God. If there is someone on this earth that can bring him (the prez) towards a broader understanding of faith that would be no one else but you with God's help and mercy. ^_^ Happy PBB po Kapatid na Eli! ^_^

ReplyDeletePresident Duterte pls dont be an atheist someday. There is a Good God and He does exist!
ReplyDeleteI believe that our president Rodrigo Duterte in on the process of exploring of for the truth. He believe that justice is the truth but for God it is not efficient for the welfare of every men. Yes,God will prove to us that His(God) thinking is not like our own thinking.
ReplyDeleteCome now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isaiah 1:18
Let us know His everlasting love because God is faithful in His ways…
Upon reading this another in teresting blog, i must say...i can feel a pain, sadness and hope. Some words are like a hidden knife exposing the hidden truth, and some words are giving hope to those hopeless minds and hearts affected by the ongoing injustice in the country of Philippines. Maybe i feel saddened but then i feel relieved by the words of God...always. Thanks be to God
ReplyDeleteHappy PBB mga kapatid!
ReplyDeleteWhen i listen to the speech of Duterte, and heard "where is God?", i just say (on my mind), this will be the nxt topic of bro. Eli and sure to clarify all things about it. And this is it. Thank God
ReplyDelete#WhereIsGod • I basically support President Duterte and his campaign to eliminate corruption in the government but I think he needs to be enlightened on this one. And who else can give him just that other than the most sensible preacher of our time, Bro. Eli Soriano. The President would have not made this statement if he had listened to Bro. Eli Soriano before.
ReplyDeleteWe apparently see the wickedness engulfing every sector of Philippine society. Much of our dismay, unto the supposed to be bureau of correction, corruption lingers among persons in authority tolerating this unlawful acts. Nevertheless, our country is now on the start of hopefully noble change initiated by the president. What is happening now is unprecedented, seeing small and high profile drug syndicates fear the president's all out war to crime and corruption. Only, with the stress and pressure he is experiencing, it is sad to knew that he tends to be questioning God's existence and justice. Just the same sentiments I had before not until I heard Bro Eli. Hopefully, Godwillingly, may the president find time to read these articles. I'm sure he'll find these consoling and might serve the answers to his hearts doubts. Again thanks be to God for a Bro Eli in our time
ReplyDeleteI'll wait for the next blog/article Bro Eli. May our President hear about it.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Mr President will be enlightened by the word of God and His existence.
ReplyDeleteI think not because there are killings and injustice and strife and loss and pain etc. means that there is no God.
The President is just being who he is. Humans like us. Feeling sad when bad things are happening to fellow humans. Because HE CARES.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope that Bro. Eli's preaching will enlighten many of us about the question that even the President of a country uttered.
What assurance if he can get there?
ReplyDeleteThe National Bilibid Prison, which by the way is tautology – BILIBID NA PRISON PA – would most likely be intertwined for its frivolous name as an institution, is not a correctional facility but is rather a vulture’s castle. The only stereotypical difference between the inmates and its guards is the badge that would tell you – which one is the legal or the illegal criminal. Prisoners living a profligate life like rock stars where its prison cells are equivalent to paradise for the impecunious and vagabonds. No wonder these incorrigible prisoners would want to testify and bear witness against a senator implicated with the drug trade in the prison. Either that comes with reciprocity or they just want to add spice to what is cooking.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that the President has too much on his plate because his transition from a mayor to a president was a prodigious leap. WE must understand that while he controlled DAVAO like the back of his hand, Manila and other regions dances with its own music orchestrated by discrepant tunes depending on its distinct cultures, traditions, values, dialect and even delicacy. There are too many factors Duterte should consider to optimize his authority. Because Luzon is not Visayas nor Mindanao. A shockwave of dilemma would inundate him as he open his eyes and see an abundance of astonishments. It will be a while before his foundation would stand affirm.
I will wait for the continuation of this blog. I do not want to preempt what BRO.ELI would add in his discretion. Meanwhile, I just want to incessantly say that I support this blog and Bro.ELI’s wisdom in his perspicacious view about the assumptive impression of international media against Duterte. Remember, Assumption is the mother of all screw ups.
I hope people including our dear President Duterte will get the chance to listen to the words of God through Bro Eli before it's too late. Sana makapakinig po silang lahat, napakarami pong kailangang malaman at matutunan tungkol sa dakilang Lumikha. Salamat po sa Dios. To God be the Glory!
ReplyDeleteAmen. Thanks be to GOD for this article.
ReplyDeleteMany people wonder where God is when bad things happen.
ReplyDeleteLet us pray for all kings and those in authority because they are Satan's target to corrupt them with power. May God have mercy on them.
Wow! Trully it's worth reading for.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to read the next blog.
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

DeleteIt opens close mind of a concern citizens to be watchful and careful in criticising to the governance of our leader.
ReplyDeleteVery wide understandings that teaches us about this blog. Hoping that the leaders of every country be guided by our Lord God.
ReplyDeleteHappy PBB po
ReplyDeleteI am worried about the future of our country under our president DU30. Now it's very clear that he's anti-U.S. and leaning towards China and Russia. The friendship between the two countries is at stake.
ReplyDeletevery keen observation by bro. eli.. thanks be to God!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for your next blog brother Eli. Thanks be to God for the enlightenment on such controversial topic / issues. God bless you more.
ReplyDeletebecause President Duterte is one of the Filipino citizens who is also thristy of justice and tired of witnessing unsolved heinous crimes in our country. He believes in God but obviously He don't have any idea about God, most probably the reason is the religion He came from is also ignorant about God.
ReplyDeleteI believe that president Du30 is risking the country too much for his intention to cross the Rubicon as the saying goes. We aren't ready. My point is that we're not self sufficient yet economically, militarily and nationally. If government goes to other side how sure the president they won't give list in return to support us. It'll be the same thing because we can't stand by ourselves. It should have been done a long time since president Marcos.
ReplyDeleteMabuti na lang at Bro. Eli is here to enlighten us.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that the president is currently doing what I see as cleansing the society of prohibited drugs but the solution is questionable. To me my belief that extra-judicial is true. This is a short cut to get rid of the problem. But the president doesn't know that he is fighting against the evil of this world, Running after against flesh and blood is futile, it won't solve the problems.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer not to know the intention of president DU30 to cross to other side. I prefer him to be privy on this matter. The vulgarity of whatever his plans is politically and nationally shocking to me. I don't support him in this endeavor.
ReplyDeleteThank GOD for this enlightened blog. I can't wait to read the continuation of this blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your insight Bro. Eli
ReplyDeleteHowever, I would like to know your opinion about Sec De Lima.
She is in the center of this NBP drug mess currently. I too, support Du30's drug campaign and it dissapoints me that previous officials of the Govt have a hand into this mess. What do you think about this Bro?
thnks be to God.. ive been waiting for your biblical thoughts about the Pres asking Where is God. surely, we'll anticipate the next part of this blog..
ReplyDeleteA very informative blog which gave us something to think about. I am excited for the continuation of this blog. Thank God for sending us his message on what we should do and to who we need to put our hopes upon, keep up the good work Mr.Controversy. May God continue to use you to provide people with information that is in accordance with the scripture.
ReplyDeletethe sovereignty at its par excellence. what best option could you possibly think of with the current country's strife? It's good to know he believes in God. We'll leave it all to God's mercy
ReplyDeleteIn his term the president reiterates that military exercises between U.S and our forces will be the last that was recently conducted because China doesn't want it. This is practically suggesting that this one of the lists for peaceful agreement with negotiations to China. This is cowardice. Kalayaan islands has been home and livelihood for Filipino fishermen. We don't give that away without a fight. Fighting today doesn't necessarily mean military confrontation. We already won one in the international tribunal. Military exercises near kalayaan is merely showing readiness for the future. Our forces must be ready. With U.S., we can attain it. The president must cunningly humble to play with U.S. and not with China and Russia while cleaning its government with corruption.
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God!
ReplyDeleteThanks Be To God and To our Lord Jesus Christ for this wonderful blog. Let us read and share to other
ReplyDeleteIn a viper's nest you must become a viper ..it's what is happening in the Philippines.. time for a change
ReplyDelete#WhereIsGod
May God help Pres DU30 and his Colleagues fighting against Drugs, Corruption and Criminality. I understand Digong's situation of being a Leader of a country. May God guide him in every decision he will make.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the next one, God willing. Salamat sa Dios!

ReplyDeleteMay the President enlightened in your next blog bro. Eli. And hope that he personally reads it. God's willing...
ReplyDeleteI think the president DU30 need to follow this blog to enlighten his belief and understanding regarding his doubt about GOD. cause it not
ReplyDeletegood for a country leader without theism.
I hope the President finds a way to find the truth about God's decisions so he would not end up questioning the unfortunate things happening around him. I hope that the President might get a chance to read this article. Thanks be to God Mr.Controversy!
ReplyDeleteWorth reading.. Thanks be to God!
ReplyDeleteMay God continue enlighten our hearts and minds with His existence through this blog. I hope president Duterte will read this blog. More blog to come :)
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
ReplyDeleteI would like to say Thank you Brother Eli Soriano for this understandable and enlightened blog. I hope people who criticizing you brother will stop because you never hurt any egos and not be bias. And to our President Rodrigo Duterte I thank you a lot because of your advocacy to fight drugs, because of your advocacy Mr. I feel safe now in our community. And to all of those who bashed this two person who did a better Job I wish that your mind and heart will be change because if you continue do it my question is whats the benefit of it to you? Instead of bashing and criticizing them why is it you just support them? they make and doing good so we should have to help them because they doing it for our beneficiaries. Lets make our hearts and minds more positive for us to make a better life.
ReplyDeleteI love to read all the blogs of Mr Controversy Xtraordinary...I deeply hope the President will have even a bit of time to read what is in here to have more insight and wisdom to rule the the country...
ReplyDeleteGod's justice is perfect, unlike man's justice.
To God be the Glory...
ReplyDeleteIn a democratic form of government, President DU30 acts like a dictator. What I understand is that he's probably saying to the Filipino people now "take it or leave it you want change in the country I got nothing to loose. This is what I want for everybody". He's not afraid to loose his position even his life. My hope is that we can have better future from this change.
ReplyDeleteLet us trust God with out any "buts" but wholeheartedly no matter what!!!!
ReplyDeleteyes indeed SSD...
ReplyDeleteThis blog is very wonderful. Thanks Be To God first of all for this tihs and may all people will read this blog.
